Say Hello To

Having grown up in Mill Valley, it was inevitable that I would return. After a decade in New York City, I am thrilled to be back bringing with me over 15 years of residential real estate experience. I join forces with Vanguard Properties, working alongside my mom, Marylisa Tencer, in the downtown Mill Valley office.

I launched my Real Estate sales career in 2001 with The Corcoran Group in New York and quickly built a loyal and steady clientele base. Having represented both buyers and sellers for five years, I was then promoted into management and was named managing director of the firm’s Brooklyn Heights office and earned recognition as a member of The Corcoran Group’s coveted President’s Council, honoring managing brokers around the country for success in operations, recruiting, and profitability.

In 2008, I opened the Corcoran Group's Williamsburg office and as senior managing director, I oversaw more than 45 agents and catapulted the office to success. I helped to make operations profitable in a very short period of time and excelled in selecting and training top agents, including the 2008 and 2009 Brooklyn Rookies of the Year. I earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California and have also taken extensive business leadership courses at the Wharton School of Business.

Marylisa Tencer has been described by her clients as a consummate professional with the utmost integrity.  She has been a real estate agent for more than a decade.   She provides her clients with the most current information on positioning their property in a competitive market - from correct pricing and preparation to effective staging and presentation. Marylisa is there for her clients every step of the way with personalized service that extends well beyond the close of escrow. Service is the key to her business, and while working with both buyers and sellers and focusing on their individual needs, she brings enthusiasm, commitment, and expertise to her job as a Realtor.

Marylisa has lived in Marin County for over 40 years.  She raised her family in Marin and has always been an integral part of the community.  It is a tradition for her family is to serve dinner at St. Vincent’s Dining Room on Christmas Eve. She has been on the board of Kiddo and the Mill Valley Schools Community Foundation.  Marylisa was president of the Redwood Guild of Sunny Hills for several years and tutored for Bridge the Gap.

Prior to becoming a real estate agent, Marylisa owned her own import company. Her experience as a parent, businesswoman, and community member in Marin, have given her a wealth of knowledge to share with her clients.  Marylisa knows what the county has to offer in the way of infrastructure, businesses, schools, neighborhoods, and microclimates, which helps her to guide clients in their search for the perfect place to live.

Mette moved to Marin County from Denmark in 1992 to chase her “American Dream”. With one suitcase and $100 in her pocket, she began her love affair with California and instantly knew she had landed in a very special place. Fast forward 30 years and Mette is still excited about living in Marin.

Her extensive career in real estate began as a stager which fully utilized her strong sense of space, design, and how a home should flow which ultimately translated into higher sales prices for her clients. She decided to add Realtor to her resume to expand her involvement in the dynamic housing industry.

Mette is genuinely passionate about helping clients find homes that perfectly fulfill their idea of a dream home. She enjoys meeting new people and creating beautiful solutions that meet all of their needs. Her warm, respectful and positive demeanor guides clients and team members through even the toughest situations with ease.

Professional Loungers

More than the the office mascots, they are everyone's best friend (as long as you come with treats). Plus they are professional cuddlers and the world's best loungers. Not only that, they recognize a good property when they see one.
